Units (ユニット, Yunitto) are the various personnel and vehicles that make up a player's army in the Tiny Metal series, which players build, move and fight with in order to achieve victory.[1][2]
Units are colored according to the faction they belong to; yellow for Artemisia, blue for the White Fangs, green for Zipang, red for Obsidior, purple for Dinolda, cream for the Metaclyon Corporation and gray for Neutral.[2]
Unit Types[]
There are four general types of unit:
- Infantry (歩兵, Hohei): Infantry units consist of groups of soldiers operating on foot.
- Vehicles: Vehicle (or vehicular) units are ground-based vehicles used for both combat and support.
- Air: Air units (also referred to as Aviation[3] or aerial units, or aircraft) are aircraft which operate in the sky.
- Mechanima: Introduced in Tiny Metal: Full Metal Rumble, Mechanima (or Mecha for short) are powered suit units that combine aspects of infantry and vehicles. Described as being slightly stronger than a Metal, they are versatile and can climb hills without a movement penalty, but have less movement than certain other units, don't carry a lot of ammo and use lots of fuel, requiring frequent resupplying.[3]
Aside from standard units, there are also enhanced versions of units known as Hero Units, which can be recruited by playing through the game and deployed via a Comms Link,[1] and Commander Units, where the commanders themselves take to the battlefield.[2]
